Club Fair!

On Friday September 2, a few of my friends and I attended the club fair from 4-6 on campus. I saw such a large variety of clubs and organizations for all different hobbies and academics. There were tons of students attending, leaving, and coming between the timeframes. I was only there for about 45 minutes because I had class until 4:50 on Friday. It did not take me too much time to join a club because I love the gym and about a week ago, they created a weightlifting club. On top of that, I thought about joining an intramural soccer club because I played all four years at my high school, but I figured I could join at any time. There were all diverse types of clubs such as Ocean club, EMS club, fishing club, and a club for every academic study! Everyone who was at the club stand seemed so inviting and excited to recruit new members to their clubs. My friends joined at least one club which was awesome. I believe having the opportunity to join and create new clubs is amazing and can bring an entire community together is a new way.

First UNE football game! The first game was against Bridgewater State and we ended in victory! The theme was blue out and so many students and parents came to support it was awesome. The energy in the stands was even better because of everyone there and we held the head the entire game. I would love to go back and experience the warm weather and enthusiasm.

This was our trip to McDougal Orchards as a class! I loved this picture a lot because of how beautiful the raspberries look. This trip was such a nice experience to get to know some of the girls in the class, and have a class period where we could be more like ourselves. Finding out yellow raspberries were a thing was also really cool, and that they had a whole different flavor. Getting apples, raspberries, pumpkins for painting, and picking my first raspberries was so much fun!

My last beach trip of this year was a really special couple hours for me. It was one of the last 70 degree days here and I got to put shorts on and go to the beach by myself to relax my mind. I brought my beach blanket, my speaker, a drink, and sunglasses. Nobody was around so i got to lay in peace and listen to the waves, my music, and clear my thoughts and brain. Self care like this has always been important and prioritized to me, little things like this help me in ways I can’t really explain. I can’t wait to be able to do this again when it starts to get warm again.
This was my friend Hailey and I at the most recent hockey game. We have been to all of them so far that are at UNE and its always so much fun. The last game was incredible, the teams had so much tension and the student section was crazy supportive and the energy was wild!! Everyone was yelling at the other team players, even the refs when they had bad calls. It got so intense there was a physical fight and two players got kicked from the game. Its such a fun thing to do on Friday nights and I can’t wait for the one this week!
This is an alpaca. A few weeks ago alpacas were right outside of the campus center. I heard about them being there but I was working a shift inside the campus center but needed to go pet one, so thats what I did. It was a weekend, so the shift i was working was 5 hours, this was the best part of my shift. The fitness center was totally fine while I went out for a few minutes so that was a relief as well. I have no clue why they were on campus, but I loved seeing them very much.
This was the one time that the dining hall served orange chicken. It was so amazing, yet i haven’t seen them put it out again. Also, they served this right around when the dining hall food started to get better, so this was a big win. It was very delicious and I am very upset I haven’t seen it since.
Halloween at Worcester State University. What a night to say the least. The night began horribly, but ended with a large everything pizza, McDonalds, and burger king. I got to see my trio friend group from home which was really nice for one of their birthdays, that one had a little too much fun. Hailey and I became the moms for the night at least for a awhile. Seeing and experiencing life in Worcester just for one night was eye opening, one of the ways was Uber and how frequently used it is. I am thankful to not live in a city like that, with a huge campus and having everything be so far away. Hailey and I will not be returning, ever.
This was a very fun football game because the girl taking the photo next to me is my hometown best friend who came to visit. She goes to an art school so experiencing a college level football game was new and exciting for her. It was so great to have her meet my new friends here, it almost felt as if two worlds had collided. It was also so nice because this was my first time seeing her again and (as i predicted) neither of us changed drastically or anything, so of course we picked up where we left off. I missed her a lot but I am also grateful for the bonds I have made here as well.
This was the last Saturday it was super warm out, my second to last time going for the year. I woke up earlier than usual so I had time to go do this for myself before class. I brought my speaker, explored the beach a little more by walking around, listened to my music, and was just so happy to clear my head after a long week. I absolutely love living on a beach, the location of this school is perfect for me. I am so thankful I am able to walk 10 minutes from my dorm and lay a towel down to relax in the sun. Doing these things by myself are so important for my mental health, I hope I always continue to remember doing little things for myself.
