Step 3: A connection I can make through Range is that like Fredrick, I did not stay with one sport or thing throughout my childhood. When I was younger, I would never enjoy running or just working out in general. I did not enjoy being sweaty, out of breath, and I saw no reason to work hard. Now, ever since this time last year, I am happiest when lifting weights. Fredrick ended up being super successful in tennis yes, but he also did not commit his entire childhood to just that. He was a generalist in sports, now he is a specialist in tennis. But Tiger has been a specialist in golf his entire life, which is the difference between them. An academic connection I can make is that Tiger spent his whole life being influenced by his dad to be perfect at golf instead of focusing on school and academics. My parents would never tell me to focus on a sport instead of school, but in high school I played soccer all four years and I would put practices and games and training before my schoolwork every time.

Step 4: What did not go well with my goal writing, is I realized I do not have a lot of variety in my goals in personal, academic, and extracurricular. I feel as if I can develop more hobbies, I would be able to set more goals for my future self. And when writing out my academic goals, of course I want to succeed in all my classes but it is just a matter of if I have my priorities straight and put in the effort to do so.

Step “5”: One of my goals that I know I have had a fixed mindset on is academic. As a person, I like pushing myself to the limits for mostly anything to see what I am capable of. I do not give myself enough credit for what I can do academically and how much I do learn and understand. For a personal goal, I have a fixed and growth mindset for the same type of thing. By working out with the goals I set, my whole body has changed from when I started. I can look at myself and see all the work I have put in for the past year, and sometimes I see exactly where I was at the start, and it motivates me to push myself even further.
